Jewish Learning at Home

We hope that the Jewish learning of our families, those with students in the Religious School or not, will continue beyond our walls.  These links are provided to empower each of you to take ownership of your own Jewish knowledge.

Hebrew and Prayer

Shabbat Service MP3sThese recordings by our muli-talented B’nai Mitzvah Tutor and lay-Chazan,  Howard Cohen, were recorded to help students study for Bar/Bat Mitzvah, but you can also use them to learn the tunes we usually use for our Shabbat Services at Tifereth Israel.

Behrman House: Click and Learn Hebrew at Home–This wonderful FREE resource, provided by the publisher of the Hebrew Textbooks we use, allows parents and students to review Hebrew lessons at home in a no-pressure environment.  Use it to reinforce classroom learning or for adults to review what you might have forgotten (or never learned).  You will need to create a username and password.

Behrman House: Click and Learn Prayer at Home–This is another FREE resource from Behrman House Publishing that goes beyond Hebrew Phonics and reads the basic prayers of the Daily and Shabbat Service.  This is a great way to review all of the words to prayers and to listen to them sung slowly.   See Howard Cohen’s MP3s above for the tunes used at TI.

More resources to come . . .
